Two years ago this month, I took the leap and went fully self-employed with JWB Marine.

The business started back in 2012 as a part-time venture alongside my full-time job. I began caring for one boat and slowly grew from there, building the business almost entirely through word-of-mouth recommendations by delivering quality work.

Leaving the security of a day job to go full time was a big step. I’m incredibly grateful to my wife for her constant support and encouragement behind the scenes as the business has grown.

I’m also proud of the trust customers have placed in me with their boats — their pride and joy — over the years. Thank you.

Lift-out coming up? Here's our quick pre-lift checklist;

✅Sails off (or at least the headsail)
✅Running rigging tidied up off the deck
✅Seacocks open so pipes can drain
✅Loose gear stowed
✅Any gear coming ashore has been taken off (it saves carting it down a ladder later!)

Even if you’re not lifting out yet, taking sails off for the winter is worth doing, unless you’re sailing right through ⛵❄

It’s a requirement in most yards, and it saves you coming back to green sails in the spring. We can drop sails and covers, and our friends at @sunstormcovers or @sanderssails can get them cleaned and checked ready for next season.

We had nine boats for the autumn Beaulieu sailing rally.

Cloud Nine now out for her annual service, she will be receiving fresh antifouling, waterline stain treatment and a wax polish whilst she is out along with a raft of other services to ensure she is in tiptop condition ready for the season ahead.
